I teach at a Title 1 charter school, which means the majority of students qualify and receive free and reduced lunches. Being a charter school, however, means that these parents have chosen specifically to send their children there instead of the local public school. This year we have begun a new and innovated style of teaching, in which the students switch classes and spend 90 minutes in each class using a combination of whole group teaching and stations (interactive learning). The students have really embraced this type of learning and teaching and I want to continue to have exciting and innovative station activities.
