Working in a public elementary school as a kindergarten teacher, I have students come into my classroom with varying background experiences. While some of my students will come to school having done more traveling than I have, others will come into school never having any educational experiences. Despite the huge gap between the knowledge that these kids attain, it is my responsibility to make sure that they leave my classroom on the same playing field.
