Community Service has gone to the dogs! Canine Commandos, Inc (CCi) have 400+ students. 26 schools bus daily to 3 shelters training dogs that are ignored for adoption due to lack of training. The success rate of our dogs trained finding "fur"ever homes is 69%. I am the President/Founder/Teacher of CCi. Our goal is to provide opportunities for students to volunteer in the community to learn compassion and empathy, as well as help find homes for shelter animals. Not only do we teach dogs basic commands, we socialize and read to them...cats too! The Commandos create awareness projects reflecting on their experiences like scrapbooking or making animation PSA's. We celebrate our successes with year-end Expos to showcase projects, meet new friends from other schools, and invite community guests. We have been recognized by Good Morning America, Disney, Office Depot's Teachers Change Lives just to name a few.
