My students come from economically disadvantaged homes. Most of my students do not play anything but video games. With mostly boys in my room (9 girls, 18 boys), I have found that they like to compete with each other. They compete in math class, at recess, and even with their grades. Most of my boys do not like to read. Some of my students have been talking about the game "Words with Friends." I have started playing Jeopardy in my room and they love it. So now I want to introduce them to Scrabble.
