PLAS is a last chance placement for students who have not succeeded in traditional learning environments. Most of our kids are far from desired levels in reading, writing, social skills, and health. Despite court-mandated attendance, truancy has been a consistent issue. As a school, we are constrained to five academic blocks per day, leaving no room for character education, arts, or physical activity. Our basketball team has given students an exciting reason to come to school! The multiple benefits of our team include the encouragement of student focus in their academic coursework, a requirement of team play, development of leadership and teamwork skills, healthy outlets for frustration and anger, physical fitness and nutritional improvement. School spirit is at an all time high with an alternative school championship under our belt! Please help us continue by supporting basic supplies for our team!

About my class
