Recent research shows that frequent movement throughout a child's school day can help with a student's focus, attention and productivity within the classroom. Flexible seating gives students a chance to choose the type of nontraditional classroom seating that works best for them to use on a daily basis. The use of various types of seating allows the students to move frequently throughout the day, without being disruptive. It also gives them choice, which makes them feel more successful. My students need new seating and a table to implement flexible seating for this school year. I plan to implement these various types of seating during the upcoming school year. I am very excited to see how it will go! The students and I will discuss the new seating at the beginning of the year. We will develop rules for the seating and students will sign a flexible seating contract that will also go home for parents. The most important rule will be that the teacher has the right to move anyone, at anytime, if she feels it is necessary. I am so eager to start and I really think the students will love it as well. I've read about many other teachers who have tried it, and they were all successful. How awesome is that to have something so successful that benefits everyone? Thank you for your donation.
