I am the school counselor for grades Kindergarten, first, second, and self contained classrooms. I currently reach out to about 550 children. I work with all the students with character education. This involves topics like responsibility, honesty, citizenship, and respect. I have classroom lessons weekly and use hands on activities to help students in the classrooms. I also have programs that the school can benefit from. Students get to participate in programs that integrate learning into fun activities. Some of the programs that we have had include the following: Veteran's Day Celebration, Ronald McDonald Character Traits, Red Ribbon Week speakers,Career Day etc. Students in our school enjoy hearing speakers and learning outside of the classrooms at times.
