Currently my first grade class has 16 girls and 9 boys of ethnic background, most struggling economically. They attend a public school in the Bronx which is in the middle of a low income neighborhood. The are all given free lunch each day and parental involvement is slim to none. Our school is struggling due to the lack of resources and basic supplies necessary in having a solid education.
