My students are eager to learn but often face many obstacles in their lives. They lack the basic background for many of the skills they are expected to know at a fourth grade level, and unfortunately that is also the case with many parents. Like any 9 year old they love hands on work and often understand what they learn much better is they use hands on materials. Our school shares many of the materials that we have and we do not have a lot of money to invest in technology or more materials for the classrooms. We do our best but often do without, and I would like to change that for my students.
