I feel that having student created artwork in the library will create a stronger connection with students and the space. Just like stories in books, their paintings can be about anything. They can be inspired by a favorite book or simply something that makes them happy. School libraries are not just about books on shelves. Students who do not enjoy reading can still love to come to the library because of the space it provides. Avid or struggling readers can see their painting on the wall and know they belong within the library walls regardless of how or what they read. Reading is the foundation that supports our students. The library is a perfect place to build that foundation while keeping the child active in their participation.
