I teach a 5th and 6th Special Day Class with students with mild to moderate disabilities. The school is in a low socio-economic community in California. Many of them are second language learners and have specific learning disabilities. They need a lot of motivation and modeling to work productively. They enjoy learning about math, playing math center games, and computer math games. They love science experiments, literacy circles, and playing sports.
