There are currently 31 students enrolled in my 5th grade class. 16 are boys and 15 are girls. Over half of my students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. A third of them are English Learners. Many of the students are significantly below the 5th grade level in their academic performance. Because they struggle to find success in the school setting, they need an alternative approach to learning.
