This will be a gathering space for group work and will replace 20+ year old graffiti-adorned library tables which are currently used. Research shows that students learn best in groups of 3-4 and keeps students from opting out. My goal is to order varieties of seating over time and slowly replace the outdated, tagged seating we have at this time. Individual seating, small group seating, paired seating, low seating, standing seating, and lounge seating is my vision. Picture how you work—it is probably not upright in a field of other chairs. I am all about giving kids the best chances for success and part of this is providing a comfortable homey environment which will help motivate these kiddos from difficult backgrounds engage and communicate.
