My students are young children with Autism or other developmental delays. My school is amazing and is currently a state demonstration site for special education preschool programs. The staff are energetic, caring, and talented people. We work as a team and involve parents in all aspects of educational process. Our goal is to help the students develop the skills needed to transition to Kindergarten with minimal need for special education support. We want them to have the speech and language skills to express their ideas and understand classroom instruction. We want them to have the social skills to enable them to form relationships with adults and children in their community. We want them to have the academic skills to participate in a general education classroom if possible. I truly believe that early intervention is the key to a happy and successful public school experience for these children. I love where I work and what we are doing to support children and families.
