My preschool students are currently 4 years old and attend a public pre-K to 6 elementary school. They will turn 5 while they are in preschool and be kindergarteners next school year. Some of them speak English, some of them are learning English. The ETK program is a full day, six hour program. It is staffed with a teacher and two assistants. Two of the six hours are to be outdoors. We are currently utilizing Creative Curriculum, ST math, CGI, Sanford Harmony, Frog Street Press' Color Songs and Phonemic Awareness to name a few. We learn to color, cut, paste, ride trikes, be kind, share, take turns, build with blocks, play pretend, learn to negotiate, listen to stories, make friends, try new foods, sing, and so much more! All of this learning is done in a playful way. I often hear of children who are sick but still want to come to school. I hope their love for school lasts forever.
