Our students are born with many disadvantages. They live in a high poverty area where most families are struggling to provide the basic necessities. Even with such challenges we have students eager to learn and make a better life for themselves and their families. The majority of the students are English Language Learners. Most kids do not have computers at home and in a world that values technology, they are placed at an even bigger disadvantage. At school, students are provided with some technology, but again it costs money to keep updated and replacing out of warranty items is even worse. With all the budget cuts, our classrooms have felt the effects.

About my class
