Wilshire Park Elementary School is a small Title I school in the Korea Town area of Los Angeles. The population is diverse and has varied socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. My third grade students are motivated and love learning. This year one of our focuses has been on technology. My students are learning keyboarding and how to write code. They are determined to stay current with 21st Century Skills! The majority of my students speak two languages. Eighty percent of them are learning English as a second language and all of them have an appetite for learning. Most students in my class are children of immigrant families where Spanish, Korean and various other home languages are represented.
