My second grade students are bright and eager to learn. Their ethnic backgrounds are Hispanic and African-American. Sixty percent of my students are English Language Learners. They are in a dual-language program, learning Spanish and English. Our public school has approximately 1,000 students enrolled, it is a large school with limited resources.
