My students live in a rural portion NC where the economy of our area has been struggling for the last few years. My middle school students enjoy reading about subjects that really catch the eye and personal interest. They love to read passages that include graphics, and pictures which help to tell the story. We have practiced the skill of reading in the content area so far this year. We use the skills of using not only the text but pictures and graphics to paint the full central idea of the article/story.

About my class
