My class is filled with transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students of all backgrounds. Our school has a large population of students that come from different countries. If I was able to provide the technology for these young minds to experience and utilize in the classroom, they would be more engaged and active in the learning process. I am able to present them with hands on instruction, whole and independent groupings but can't provide them the technology they need to navigate the current learning trends. Common core and testing in the school has changed the expectations for our school population at large. How can I possibly expect students to perform these challenging tasks when they are not provided the current learning tool? I want to equip these young minds with an assortment of realia that they can find on a tablet, that might not be accessible otherwise. My kids would really enjoy the opportunity to engage and gain technical knowledge.
