I want to create a culture of reading appreciation. I intend to provide students will flexible seating choices within my classroom. I have worked hard to develop a classroom library, but I would like to create a reading corner where students can relax and fall in love with reading. They have access to books, but not to comfortable seating. Sometimes, middle schoolers just need to block out distractions so that they can focus on their assigned tasks. I would also like to have a class set of headphones to be used with the digital reading program that differentiates for the various needs my students have. Some of my students are reading several grades below grade level. This program addresses those individual learning gaps, but students must have headphones to be used with the program.
