I teach special needs high school students who are considered "at risk" in the areas of economically disadvantaged as well as at risk for dropping out. I teach a multi-discipline curriculum at the grades 9-12, as well as a remediation reading program for those who are significantly below grade level in reading skills. Many of my students have never completed a book in their lives and getting funding for high interest low reading level novels is next to impossible, so a school library with these types of resources would be greatly appreciated.
