Many of my 6th grade students read far below grade level. We have a lot of students in foster care, so they are in a constant state of transition. My hope is that the book Savvy will provide them with a momentary escape from reality. My class is a very diverse group who attend an average sized middle school in California. Many are eager learners, but they have just not found the love of reading yet. Even though they are 11 and 12 they LOVE being read to and reading aloud!

About my class
