We are a California school in a low income neighborhood. Our Pilot High School was opened to meet the needs of high school students who are interested in artistic endeavors. Many want to pursue careers in the entertainment industry, and there are a lot of kids with strong aptitudes for music. Our theater teacher will tell you that over one hundred kids auditioned for our spring musical (only seven will make it!). Students are chomping at the bit to either develop or showcase their talents. This project will give us a resource that many of our young performers can use for shows and practice. It is also a way that our English teachers can teach songwriting and song analysis.
