Every student learns differently. My students have individualized academic goals and are achieving their goals by using materials designed specifically for them. I currently have six students in my class and they are all on the autism spectrum. Our school is designed specifically for students with disabilities. They learn more effectively in a one to one setting or in a small group with one or two other students. They have a difficult time sitting for prolonged lengths of time and have areas within the classroom where they work in small group, transition to and from activities, sit with a book, or bounce on a therapy ball for a movement break.
