The majorities of my students are English Language Learners and are economically disadvantaged. Your generous support will give these students an opportunity to explore, discover, unlock and demonstrate their hidden talents. I plan to integrate music with math to show how closely they are related to each other. My 3rd grade students will participate in learning how to play rhythms and melodies on the recorders. I will also provide instruction on teaching musical notation values, counting measures and time signatures and their equivalency related to math formulas. We will be counting, adding, subtracting, dividing note values in a measure and learning their fractional value as well. Our goal is to have students perform songs and generate their own compositions in musical form and share it with others while having fun.
