My students come from low-income families. The majority of them are Latinos with non-existent to very limited English. The school is located in a neighborhood that is inhabited by many immigrants. The parents work many hours and sometimes do not have quality time to spend with their child. Nor can they come to the school and see what their child is learning and doing at school.
