I am a third grade elementary teacher in an inner city district who teaches a class of twenty four students in all subject areas. The majority of the student population in my school speaks a language other than English at home. Many students come from broken homes and are exposed to difficult situations outside of school. Since many of their parents do not speak English it is extremely important that their days in school be full of meaningful and enjoyable experiences to read. They must be exposed to new vocabulary, while also teaching them about the world around them.

About my class
