The students at Alice Carlson love art. They are enthusiastic about learning and trying new things. Alice Carlson Applied Learning Center is a Fort Worth ISD school of choice, where students from all over the district apply to attend. Students are then drawn in a lottery style. So, we end up with a diverse group of students. At Alice Carlson we have enrichment clusters on Friday, where students get to do special activities in a small group with something they're really interested in learning more about. I have done a mural cluster and a select a studio cluster, where we did a variety of different art projects. This year were are doing mosaic glass windows to show and sell at the Main Street Arts Festival. Students are studying other glass mosaic artists and then designing their own windows. The students are learning about how to cut glass and will also grout their windows. What a wonderful experience!
