Approximately 75% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Some have their future goals planned out, however, many have no idea what they would like to do nor plan on making any immediate short or long term future goals. All my students have the ability to make a difference in this world, however, may need some resources to help them get motivated. With this project I would like to help them explore their options and give them a sense of direction. Our school will be hosting a College & Career Week in April. We will have a College Essay, Art or Poem Contest that will require students to think about why they want to go to college or what college can do for them. In addition, we will be hosting a night where we have actual College Representatives attend our Open House and another agency will put up large Career Booths with hands on activities to get students excited about learning.
