Students who have consistent access to the computers can log on to the iReady and MaxScholar programs at school to increase their reading levels by at least 2 or more grades by the end of the school year. Many of my students are currently reading at a level that is at least 2 or more grade levels below the grade they are currently in (7th grade). With the computers, students will be able to access individualized instruction that is geared toward their personal reading level and they are allowed to progress through the program at their own pace. Additionally, the headphones allow students to remain focused on their own individualized lessons, which makes for an ideal learning environment. Additionally, for the few students who are currently reading on grade level, the program offers them opportunities to continue to accelerate and improve.
