I have the privilege to work with and inspire 2nd graders in one of Oregon’s tough socio-economic areas. Our school leads the district in many grim statistics like – highest attrition rate, lowest capture rate for a community school, and highest population of students who reside in foster living. It is no wonder our 2nd grade staff has recently sent on the highest 2nd grade readers in the history of our school. Our success is due to many hours of hard work and the resilience of both staff members and students.

About my class
