My students are wonderful third graders. They are eager and excited about learning. Many of them live in low income housing projects. Some are in foster homes and some are in homeless shelters. Many have parents that are or have been incarcerated. In spite of all the adversity they remain wonderful hard working polite children. Our school is located in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Our school is a title one school and 97% of our student body participate in the free lunch program. Although these students have struggles they arrive daily to learn new things. They are smart, caring and bright. They are very much in need of support from outside sources as our school can not do it alone.
