Students in my district are disadvantaged students. The district has a high level of poverty. We are a diverse community with many ethnic backgrounds. Often times students do not have the basic necessities to be successful in an academic setting. I teach at an urban school with an abundance of students receiving reduced or free lunch. My students are bright students that have aspirations of attending college. It is my goal to give them the tools they need to be successful in college. They are motivated to succeed, but often times fail to achieve their full potential due to lack of school funding. These students have heart, creativity and motivation. The lack of technology and resources often prevents them from achieving their full potential.
