I am teaching at a new school and in a new district this year. My Kindergarteners are lacking the supplemental classroom supplies and activities they need to enhance their social skills in the dramatic play area and art area. Therefore I am trying to launch a "Come Out and Play Center" in my classroom where children can go and use their imagination and social skills to create real life "role play" situations. I want the learning process to be ongoing in my classroom and I want the children to enjoy and take ownership in their creative role playing. By having the supplies necessary to create " Come Out and Play" I strongly believe that my students will grow into lifelong learners who will know how to cooperate, share, and work things out together, all of which are lifelong skills!
