My students are very social, confident learners. They are mostly Hispanic English language learners and struggle with English language acquisition skills. They could therefore benefit from the read-alouds available through the wide range of audiobooks on CD in our school library. This stress-free form of reading levels the playing field for my economically disadvantaged students, since reading ability won't interfere with their being able to access the oral version of the book.
