Our elementary school is home to about one thousand students. I am a teacher working with the top 10% of academic achievers from our student population. Statistics show that my students will be the doctors, business owners, civic leaders, and CEOs of the future. My desire is that our future be in the most capable of hands ~ knowledge and skill are not an option. They must be well read, have excellent writing skills, and be effective speakers. I would like to incorporate classic books with essay writing and public speaking in my classroom. My students enjoy reading and are in the process of refining their writing skills. Most of them have never had to communicate independently for an audience.

About my class
