A full 80% of our students at the school are on free or reduced price lunch. Many of the students do not have a lot of structure at home and the school is the only place they receive that structure. I am proud to say we are a PBIS model school which means we have successfully implemented a positive behavior system to promote structure and good behavior. The students sometimes lack motivation partially because the parents do not instill in the children a belief in the importance of education. That leaves the teachers at the school to instill a belief in the importance of education for students' futures.
