My school is a Title 1 school in LAUSD and is made up of over 95% Latinos/Hispanic students. The school also participates in the Free/Reduced Meal Plan. All of my students, except for one, are Hispanic. They are all English Language Learners, 4 of them are recent arrivals to the United States (less than 1 year). They struggle with reading fluency and especially reading comprehension. The vast majority of them are classified as Below Basic and Far Below Basic in their last year's CST Language Arts scores.
