My students are 9-12th graders in a Washington state high school. They made the mistake of having a baby in high school and are trying their best to be good moms and dads. My students have stayed in school and are learning parenting skills. They know they need a diploma to support their child and to stay off welfare. My students are mostly very low income and cannot afford books to read to their children, that's why I'm requesting books that they can read to their children. I want to stop the cycle of poverty and that begins with education even before children enter school!
