My students come from a variety of cultural backgrounds and socioeconomic levels. Sadly, some of the parents are busy with work, family, and other obligations. As a result, a trip to a public library is out of the question. I was able to purchase books from a used bookstore to try to develop the desire to read and within two days my students were done so we had to exchange books with classmates. They were reading on restroom breaks, at lunch, and any chance they would get.
