My students are incredible and it is an absolute joy for me to teach them. Music literacy is not something extra in our classroom, but something that everyone has access to and that everyone can accomplish. My goal is for students to have fun--yes--but also, my goal for them is to read and write music. So many students love music and naturally get joy from it. However, not every family has the time and resources for private lessons on an instrument to learn music literacy skills. At our school, third graders can already read and sing simple melodies on the staff. I would love to further advance their skills.
