I have a class of 28 spunky second graders this year in an urban school setting. My students are excited about learning and are bustling with energy. I want to give them as much as I possibly can and hope to offer them something out of the ordinary. Our school is an urban elementary school in a large metropolitan city whose demographics have fluctuated over the 19 years I have taught here. Generations of family members have gone through our school. Some families are low income, some not. Our school has teachers who are always trying to raise the bar for their students and have high hopes and expectations for them as well. We all know each others' students by name. One thing has not changed. The love for the arts and music exist within my wonderful children. These children will benefit greatly from this musical experience.
