I am a sixth grade special needs teacher teaching at a school in South Carolina. The children I work with come to school unable to provide the basic supplies that are needed on a daily basis. We use the computer lab once a week for the computer component of the Voyager Reading Program. This program is a wonderful reading program that I have used for the past two years. The children are reading at least three grade levels below sixth grade, some more than three years, and are trying to catch up. This reading program has shown surprising results, but each child needs to work at his/her own computer which requires headphones. The headphones available have become tangled, broken and unuseable.
