We are a kindergarten class in southern California. We are small school. Most of the students have not attended preschool. Our school no longer offers it due to budget cuts. I also have three students who are developmentally mentally delayed and two with autism. Currently one- hundred percent of our students qualify for free lunch. Ninety-five percent of the students are Latino and have parents or grandparents who may have migrated from a Latin American country. Ninety-nine percent of the class is an English language learner. Most of the students' parents only speak Spanish. Some of are students are being raised by grandparents because many of the parents work and most all of them only speak Spanish.
