My technology classes are made up of students from 6th, 7th and 8th grade. They are all eager and energetic as our school implements new and exciting programs. Our focus is to provide highly effective teaching and learning, a caring school culture and positive public connections. We serve a diverse population of students with varying ability levels including ESL, ECE and special education. Our 8th grade students are preparing for the state technology test and it is imperative that they listen to online tutorials and complete practice tests. They frequently articulate their concern for more sturdy and reliable headsets in the lab. My 6th and 7th graders are being exposed to basic technology skills using Microsoft Office programs and web 2.0 tools. They are presently constrained in their attempts to prepare photo stories with narration. They are excited about the possibility of being able to prepare podcasts but this is only possible if they have access to headsets with microphones.
