I work in a Title 1 school where the majority of our students do not have enough food, security, school materials, or books to read. When you are lacking basic school materials such as books, your vocabulary is not going to grow. This makes it harder for my students to be academically successful. My students are hard workers, but when you have a lot of kids in one group, it is hard to be able to answer all their questions. The requested iPads would be perfect because my students would be able to look up the answers themselves and also download books from the public library. This would not only make their vocabularies grow, but their world.
