My students attend a public middle school (grades 6-8) in Maryland. We very unique in that a large percentage of our students come from low-income, challenged households. We are a very diverse community and cherish our cultural identity! We are home to the Corkran Cardinals where we are doing things with PRIDE and teaching purposefully so that our students can someday be leaders in their communities and have a positive role in society. My students are 11 and 12 years old and raring to go each day! Their energy and spirit brightens my room and livens things up for all those surrounding them. In addition, they are extremely creative in that they love thinking outside the box, along with sharing their wisdom to all. There is never a dull moment with my group of young teen
