These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. The students enjoy small group reading. They appreciate the time that they get to spend in a smaller group where they can interact with each other and the classroom teachers. These books are leveled and will allow each student the opportunity to read books on their own individual level individually and with a partner. As a result, the students will feel successful. and enjoy the process of reading. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to read authentic literature that is engaging and appropriate for their own reading levels. These books will help me to teach the standard RL1.1 and Ri1.1.
