Organizational skills are key to success and my little scholars need chair pockets to help them take ownership of their learning and develop this much needed life skill. Much time is spent on passing resources out, collecting them at the end of lessons, and looking for materials that my students lose or confuse amongst one another because our classroom is not equipped with a place for them to keep their materials readily available (we do not have desks or cubbies). All 25 of my Kinder students absolutely LOVE being in charge of their school supplies and materials and having a place for them to store and take care of their own resources will enhance their sense of ownership and teach them responsibility and organization.
